Local Clean-Ups

We work hand in hand with the community of Reno and Sparks, NV in order to tackle pollution in our city and local waterways, restoring the land to a state in which nature can thrive and be enjoyed responsibly.

Standard Clean-Up Procedures & Volunteer Info

Schedule:

• 8-9am – Volunteer Arrival + Food/Coffee/Gathering
• 9-9:15am – Group Warm-Up/Stretch + Plan & Safety Meeting
• 9:15-12pm – Clean-Up Time (all volunteers are welcome to come and go as they please)

Volunteer Info:

• Wear durable, weather-appropriate clothing and close-toed shoes fit to withstand potentially tough conditions. (Please bring gloves if possible.)
• Bring refillable water bottles. (Water will be provided)
• GreenVibe will provide all the tools, bags, additional gloves, and necessities to ensure successful cleans.

Community events

Green Vibe is working directly with the City of Reno and local organizations who own land along the Truckee River to address and remove pollution that is endangering ecosystems and habitats, and affecting water quality. This gives the river and surrounding lands proper conditions to heal and thrive by providing wildlife the chance to return to a healthy environment and further promote biodiversity in support of natural environmental processes. This also keeps pollution from being taken downriver and eventually to the indigenous lands/communities/ecosystems of Pyramid Lake.

We are a community-based organization and create opportunities for people to get directly involved with the mission on a regular basis.
